This past week I was looking through my 2020 journal and the Lord led me to a word He gave me in April of 2020. It really touched my life then and today. I want to share it with you as I think it is a word for many people. Then He also had me praying Psalm 23 many times a day – many days this week. It is a chapter we are memorizing in Children’s Church but it is always a powerful reminder that He is with us, He is guiding us, He is providing for us and He is our Shepherd.
Word from the Lord April 2020:
“You haven’t missed a step like you think you have. I have your hand and not letting go. I’m your Shepherd. I’m taking care of you.
You haven’t walked into a wall – look closer – there’s a door! See from My vision, My perspective. I’ll make a way when there seems to be no way. Circumstances are not always as they appear. This isn’t what you expected but leave the details to Me.
If you believe and rely on Me you will not be disappointed! Leap for joy! Lay your head on My shoulder.”

The Good Shepherd – Psalm 23 – The Passion Translation
David’s poetic praise to God
1 Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd.
I always have more than enough.
2 He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss.
3 That’s where he restores and revives my life.
He opens before me the right path
and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness
so that I can bring honor to his name.
4 Even when your path takes me through
the valley of deepest darkness,
fear will never conquer me, for you already have!
Your authority is my strength and my peace.
The comfort of your love takes away my fear.
I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.
5 You become my delicious feast
even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;
you give me all I can drink of you until my cup overflows.
6 So why would I fear the future?
Only goodness and tender love pursue me all the days of my life.
Then afterward, when my life is through,
I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!
Psalm 23 -New Living Translation
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I have all that I need.
2 He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams.
3 He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name.
4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
5 You prepare a feast for me
in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever.
