We said good-bye to 2022 last night and are welcoming in a New Year! 2022 was a year of His faithfulness and His mercies which were new every morning.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
It was a year of growth as the church family came together to pray, learn, study, share, rejoice, cry and love one another. We had people come and some people go but our core group grew stronger through the ups and downs. As pastors, our greatest joy was watching the dedication and faithfulness of the Body as we all persevere through some hard and discouraging times. Our church family may not be large in numbers but we are huge in our oneness and love for the Lord and each other. We are thankful and blessed for each of you.
The Lord has continuously been speaking into our lives and hearts on the vision and purpose of our little mountain church. The church may be small comparatively but we have a vision to reach out that is huge. This last year our foundations were strengthened in the Word. What do we see for 2023? We see a church family like the church in Acts. We have built a foundation on the power and vital necessity of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We have also learned how important and life giving our thoughts and words are. They are life or death. There was a study of Revelation and one on Daniel that brought to life the importance of these truths of prophecy for today. We have also stood on the Word of God concerning our country.
We will start 2023 with messages of knowing who we are in Christ and realizing our God given authority and power to do the same works that Jesus did. Our desire is to continue reaching out to those hurting so they can know His love.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8 God’s plan is for us to preach the truth of the Gospel, and for people to hear it and be born again through the incorruptible seed of God’s Word. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 In Acts 1:8 the “you” is not the pastors but the people too. It is YOU! YOU are to receive power and be a witness.
The enemy is alive and wants to keep us from going forward. We have been given the power and authority over the wiles of the enemy. You must KNOW that you have the authority to resist the devil and he HAS to flee from you. The lies and deceptions of the devil are getting deeper and deeper and are so subtle. We must KNOW the Truth of Jesus to recognize the deceptions of the enemy.
The Lord spoke to me a few weeks back that 2023 will be a year of “As it should be”. What does the Word say about how it should be? The Word of God is full of truths that are real, they are final, they are “laws” that govern how the Kingdom of God operates since the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. I am going to share some of the “definites” He has showed me and will expound on them more in the weeks ahead.
Healing is definite.
Prosperity is definite.
Deliverance is definite.
The works of the Spirit are definite.
The Fruit of the Spirit are definite.
Giving is definite.
Miracles, signs and wonders are definite.
The incorruptible seed of the Word is definite.
Revival is definite.
Preaching the Gospel is a definite.
We have everything in Him is definite.
There is NO LACK in the life of a Believer is a definite.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God is a definite.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
John 14:26
“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” Mark 16:20
“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”” Acts 4:29-30
“praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:18-20
The New Testament believers prayed they would be bold, faithful witnesses despite opposition. This is our example for today.
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:13-15, 17
Any promise or truth of the Word is a “definite” but these are a few we seem to doubt, ignore, forget. He told me for my life, that these are what I am to intentionally and purposefully believe and receive into my life. I have a choice to not walk in His promises but I am also tried of struggling with the enemy’s tactics. I am taking my authority and going full stream ahead into this new year the Lord has given us/me. I am ready to make a difference, again. There’s no time to waste so let’s go forward in His “definites”,
Happy New Year and looking forward to 365 days of 2023 that we have an opportunity to make a difference!
