This week my writings are simple truth. This past week we finally went for mediation on Mom’s divorce. Not anything anyone ever wants to do, especially when you are 91! Leading up to the appointment there were questions, concerns, fears, anger and not a whole lot of peace. None of us needed tension, hopelessness, condemnation, and any other negative emotion there would be in this situation. The last few weeks there was a bit of edginess in our home and I knew that our home needs to be peaceful and calm. We had to travel to Southern Colorado on Wednesday to be there for the mediation on Thursday and then back home on Friday.
On Tuesday as I was praying for the day and how I could help Mom and myself be in peace, the Lord showed me for all 3 of us to write 100 things we were thankful for or made us happy. I’m thinking how do we have time to do that when we are preparing to go out of town and normal daily life? But I felt it so strong that I typed up a paper with a couple verses and numbered it 1-100. At breakfast we talked about it and had communion, which we have been doing at breakfast. We read our “through the Bible in a year” chapters and started being thankful😊. We all had to have it done by the end of the day and we did. All day our home and hearts were peaceful.
Life right is now the whole world is full of questions, concerns, fears, death and uncertainties. There isn’t a place on earth that isn’t fighting the same evil, deception, control, sickness, fear and death that we are. There isn’t a person or home on this entire earth that doesn’t need answers and peace. And only those who know Jesus and are soaking in His presence and feasting on His Word will find it. There is absolutely NO other true answer, just imitations. I read Psalm 119:1 a couple days ago, after our thankful list, and I know it is so true.
“You’re only truly happy when you walk in total integrity, walking in the light of God’s Word.” Psalm 119:1
People are looking for the answer everywhere but in the Word. The Word is now taught as a myth in colleges. People pick and choose what they want to believe and look for happiness outside of the Lord. Unbiblical relationships and gender confusion are a fad. People are looking for true identity, peace and happiness. Their hearts and lives are so broken and nothing else has worked so maybe this will. Drugs are killing our young adults more than any other cause. All substance abuse is at an all time high. It’s hard to find someone that isn’t on something for their depression, fear, anxiety, even Believers. People’s health is dwindling because of the stress and fear which is #1 reason for disease. It’s so sad yet Jesus came and took care of this whole situation over 2000 years ago! He became everything for every person and there’s absolutely no reason for this world to be in such confusion.
But it takes more time than people think they have to give. Spending time with the Lord daily, in His Word and going to our own hearts takes surrender of something else. People would have to surrender their fears, their priorities, their time, which they think they don’t have enough of. The addictions to our phones, games and other mindless things which we believe is the answer to stress. We just want to chill out. But there is NO answer besides Jesus. I believe this is where the great awakening will begin. We are praying that people will come to an end they can’t handle alone and decide on Jesus. For the world to know that there is another way is for Believers to walk in and demonstrate love, happiness, peace, joy and assurance. They will only see another answer in us and will only know another answer in Him.
“Shine and make your joyful boast in him, you lovers of God. Let’s be happy and keep rejoicing no matter what.” Psalm 105:3
“But you can tell who are the blameless and spiritually mature. What a different story with them! The godly ones will have a peaceful, prosperous future with a happy ending.” Psalm 37:37
“But those who hope in the Lord will be happy and pleased! Our help comes from the God of Jacob!” Psalm 146:5
“Living in the worship and awe of God will bring you many years of contented living. So how could the wicked ever expect to have a long, happy life?” Proverbs 10:27
“What happy progress comes to them when they hear the Lord speak over them, “I will never hold your sins against you!”” Romans 4:8
“Are there any believers in your fellowship suffering great hardship and distress? Encourage them to pray! Are there happy, cheerful ones among you? Encourage them to sing out their praises!” James 5:13
“What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.
His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light. He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” Psalm 1:1-3
“Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in him.” Psalm 34:8
“How happy are those who can live in your Temple, singing your praises. Happy are those who are strong in the Lord, who want above all else to follow your steps.”
Psalm 84:4-5
“When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul.” Proverbs 29:18
“What happy fulfillment is ahead for those whose rebellion has been forgiven and whose sins are covered by blood. What happy progress comes to them when they hear the Lord speak over them, “I will never hold your sins against you!” Romans 4:7-8
Well, I didn’t keep it light-hearted:). My love for people with all the destruction of this world wants me to keep telling everyone the Truth and only answer! I only know this because of my own hurts, struggles, grief, sickness, discouragement, depressing thoughts, rejections, heartaches, fears and whatever else the enemy has thrown at me. I’ve faced all of these in my life and have overcome in the Lord but I have faced all of these in the last few months and have had to make a choice to overcome. I have made a commitment, have surrendered my heart and given up of my own ways and thoughts so I could let Him in to heal my heart and I can hear His words so much clearer. It works and I want to share it with everyone. I’m not condemning anyone because I know many of the struggles, not all of them, but enough to know all things are possible in Him. Jesus is our only answer and we will only be truly happy when we are faithfully seeking and spending time with Him, Who is the Word. Love you all and together we can encourage and help each other and be a light to the world!!
