This is the season of Thanksgiving. It is the time of year we set aside to realize what all we have in Him. As Believers we are thankful to Him always but we tend to take a bit more time to focus on our blessings now.
The world around us is definitely changing quickly and not all for the good. The evil if more apparent and things we never imagined we would see are happening before our eyes. It is a time to not faint but to stand firm and let the world see the overcomer you are in the Lord. As Believers, we are blessed and secure in knowing we have Jesus and He is always there with us no matter what the situations may be. That doesn’t mean there will not be hard times, times when fear is knocking at our heart’s door or times of persecution. Those times will come and knowing we have a Savior Who lives within us and promises to never leave us will bring us comfort. His love, joy, peace, strength, hope, faith, grace and all He is will give us all we need to persevere and stand firm when all around us is falling apart. Things of the world become more uncertain each day. Each of us can know Him in a way that lets us know that His ways become more certain each day. Our only hope rests on knowing how much we are loved by Him and then let Him love others through us. In the mist of all this uncertainty the greatest thing we have beside our Lord and Savior is loving one another. The Word tells us “Not forsaking or neglecting to assembly together as believers, as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25. WE NEED EACH OTHER AND EACH OTHERS LOVE!!! We need each other even more as we see the day of evil approaching.
Today we take time to thank our military. The men and women and their families who have sacrificed their own lives to keep freedom in our country. There are more problems than we have imagined in our country but it is still better than most places in the world and we must be thankful. We rejoice in honoring those who have fought for us, praying for families who lost a loved one in the service. We thank and honor you today and always. Let’s speak Life over this country! Death and life are in the power of the tongue. There is power in even this one little church speaking His words of life>
There are so many people who lay aside some of their wants and desires and give to others. Today we want to thank some of them. We thank the First Responders who are there putting themselves in danger to rescue others. The Doctors, Nurses and others who give to help us and our family when sickness and physical health issues hits. We thank teachers who teach our children and us. We thank missionaries who give up the luxuries of this life in the US and go to share the love of the Lord with others. We thank Pastors who care about people and want to share the love of the Lord with this hurting world. We are thankful for those in the fixing business. When something breaks or isn’t right we thank those who come to help – plumbers, electricians, septic fellows, etc. All of us working together – each helping the other in the area we are gifted to do is what keeps this world and our community together. If we didn’t have each other we would not have anything. Be sure and thank those in your life who have helped you.
Again, today is the time set apart to honor and thank Veterans and those currently serving our country in the military. We thank you and pray for you and your family! The power of Jesus working in each of us is the only way we can truly do the things we do and serve. His love is to be our motivation. Sharing His love with the world is what will bring a difference. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as a defeat, for it never gives up. Love never stops loving. It extends beyond the gift of prophecy, which eventually fades away. It is more enduring than tongues, which will one day fall silent. Love remains long after words of knowledge are forgotten. Our present knowledge and our prophecies are but partial but when love’s perfection arrives, the partial will fade away. When I was a child I spoke about childish matters, for I saw things like a child and reasoned like a child. But the day came when I matured, and I set aside my childish ways. For now we see but a faint reflection of riddles and mysteries as through reflected in a mirror but one day we will see face-to-face. My understanding is incomplete now but one day I will understand everything, just as everything about me has been fully understood. Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope and love – yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.” 1 Corinthians 13 Passion Translation
