It’s been a sweet week in the Lord. I ended up with a cold but continued to speak and believe healing and each day I improved. It was our oldest son and daughter’s 25th anniversary! Wow, time flies. It was the year anniversary of Caleb’s home going and a year since we had put down our 13-year-old dog, Frank. We were able to get a few much-needed things done outside before the big snow and also spent time preparing for the conference, which was a great blessing. My Mom ended up not feeling well and has been in bed for a whole day resting and healing and still is needing prayer. There were so many opportunities to get my mind off in a direction that wouldn’t bring victory. One thing the Lord had us begin to do this week was to each share a verse the Lord put on our hearts and then we discussed them. What joy it was to each bring a word that encouraged all of us. He knew what we each needed. Plus we had the much welcomed moisture!
When I was in Tennessee, I was looking through scriptures and cross references and one cross reference took me to Psalm 92. I go to Psalm 91 a lot and have read 92 but it was the words I needed to hear in this season. After my message last week of keeping filled up with Him, His words, His joy and peace these words from Psalm 92 filled my “teapot” to overflowing. I will expound on verses as we read through it.
A Song of Praise – Psalm 92 The Passion Translation
A song for the day of worship
It’s so enjoyable to come before you with uncontainable praises spilling from our hearts! How we love to sing our praises over and over to you, to the matchless God, high and exalted over all! Isn’t this beautiful! I like the “uncontainable praises spilling from our heart” Spilling from inside me and you.
At each and every sunrise we will be thanking you for your kindness and your love.
As the sun sets and all through the night, we will keep proclaiming, “You are so faithful!” At EACH and EVERY sunrise we thank Him for His kindness and love! EVERY SINGLE morning that is what the first words from our mouth should be. Thanking Him! As the sun goes down and all through the night, we are to be proclaiming His faithfulness. These thoughts would always bring sweet sleep and no sleepless, anxious nights.
Melodies of praise will fill the air as every musical instrument, joined with every heart, overflows with worship. We are to be joined with every heart as we fill the air with melodies of praise and worship until our hearts overflow! Imagining every heart joined together in praise is so glorious.
No wonder I’m so glad; I can’t keep it in! Lord, I’m shouting with glee over all you’ve done, for all you’ve done for me: This should be our attitude – so undone in Him that we are so glad we can’t keep it in! We are shouting with glee everywhere we go. All who see us know that our pots are overflowing with all our joy!
What mighty miracles and your power at work—just to name a few! Depths of purpose and layers of meaning saturate everything you do. Words that saturate all we do – mighty miracles – depths of purpose – layers of meaning. Let them saturate your mind and heart.
Such amazing mysteries are found within every miracle that nearly everyone seems to miss. Those with no discernment can never really discover the deep and glorious secrets hidden in your ways. These verses made me stop and wonder. “Amazing mysteries are found within every miracle that nearly everyone seems to miss.” His secrets, His mysteries that are ours to know - we are missing. I want to discover the deep and glorious secrets! This will come from staying close to His heart and in His Word.
It’s true the wicked flourish, but only for a moment; they foolishly forget their destiny with death, that they will all one day be destroyed forevermore. Sometimes it’s hard to watch the wicked flourish but the Lord says only for a moment. We are in His arms and safe
But you, O Lord, are exalted forever in the highest place of endless glory, while your opponents, the workers of wickedness, will all perish, forever separated from you.
Your anointing has made me strong and mighty. You’ve empowered my life for triumph by pouring fresh oil over me. Let’s put His anointing of strength and might in our “teapot” so it can be poured out on others. We are empowered by fresh oil – the Holy Spirit.
You’ve said that those lying in wait to pounce on me would be defeated, and now it’s happened right in front of my eyes, and I’ve heard their cries of surrender! What a joy it is to see victory and answered prayers right before us. It’s always happening right in front of and with eyes that are opened to see Him we will see things we never thought possible.
Yes! Look how you’ve made all your devoted lovers to flourish like palm trees, each one growing in victory, standing with strength! In Psalm 1:3 it says “He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” “He, you, me” means the one that is meditating on the word day and night.
You’ve transplanted them into your heavenly courtyard, where they are thriving before you, for in your presence they will still overflow and be anointed.
Even in their old age they will stay fresh, bearing luscious fruit and abiding faithfully.
I love it! Here is one of those promises for old age. As we are planted in Him and thriving in His presence, we will stay fresh, bearing luscious fruit and abiding faithfully! Not just bearing fruit but luscious!
Listen to them! With pleasure they still proclaim: “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me.” With pleasure we proclaim - “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me”.
No matter what is going on in your life, no matter what circumstances you are facing, the anointing of this Psalm will cause uncontainable praises spilling from our heart, His faithfulness to be seen at every sunrise and sunset, melodies of praise will overflow with worship, you to not be able to keep your shouts to yourself, His ways to saturate all you do, amazing mysteries in every miracle, the wicked to only last a moment, my life to be empowered for triumph, the enemy is defeated, me to flourish like a palm trees and be fresh, bearing luscious fruit, abiding faithfully in my old age, and to say to my Lord - “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me”.
Thank you, Lord for Your Word, Your love, Your faithfulness and Your goodness!
