May 23, 2021
Life is FULL! Life has ups and downs and the choice is ours for where we choose to live. This week I will be coming straight from my heart. This last year has been a journey of sticking with the Lord no matter what. Since November our journey was caring for our injured dog that took 24 hour care for a few weeks. It’s been almost 7 months and Summer is finally on the mend. It was one attack after another but the enemy did not win. Then a month ago my Mom fell and broke her tailbone and her back. I have been over the mountain to see her quite a few times and she is also on the mend and I believe is doing very well. I thank the Lord for His provision and wisdom in all these situations. He is always with us, guiding us and never stops loving us. I can’t imagine these situations without Him.

We’ve also had some great times. We were in Tennessee last week and watched one of our granddaughter’s graduate high school. What a joy! Our other granddaughter in Tennessee is preparing to get married in July and we were able to spend quality time with her and her soon to be husband. This week was another granddaughter’s graduation here in Colorado. I’m just so proud of these girls. They have both worked extra hard. We are planning a baby shower for another granddaughter expecting our first great grandchild in July. Then there are all the other grandchildren that will be continuing to grow and bring us joy. Next year we will have 2 in high school graduating and 2 in college in 3 different states. I’m glad I have a year to figure this one out😊 This all blesses my heart so much and I am continually thankful to the Lord. And to top it all off, Aimee came through her surgery so well and is healed! We are so grateful, grateful for that!

This last week as we were driving home from the airport returning from Tennessee when our son from TN called us. He told us his son, our grandson, Caleb, had been killed that day. We are never ready to hear anything like that. What do you do when your child calls to tell you his son was killed? How do you react? We are still numb from the news. Caleb, 22, has had some hard times the last few years and got deep into drugs. He has been in jail and prison for things he could have easily avoided. But I guess you can say that for all of us have made choices that took us where we shouldn’t have been. His just kept him there. Our problems and situations are usually something the Lord tries to warn us about and we may not listen to Him. Caleb and his girlfriend were found sleeping in a stolen car in an apartment complex. I don’t know anything else but I imagine when Caleb woke up to policemen he immediately tried to run. So, he took off and knocked 3 policemen into the wall. I don’t know what else happened. There’s lots of assumptions but someday we will know more of the truth. Whatever Caleb did caused the officers to fire at Caleb and he was killed. Many of you know Caleb from church and how he has struggled for so many years. People know that I have STOOD on His promises and believed with all my heart Caleb would come around and have an amazing testimony and lead others to Jesus. I know that I know that the Lord told me that. So, what happened? “But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect — life in its fullness until you overflow! “A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy.” John 10:10

I also know that what the enemy means for evil and destruction God will turn to good. A friend shared with me this morning that Caleb may have been robbed of this world but praise the Lord he was saved for the next. The 22 years he spent on this earth he influenced a lot of people and we are believing that we will have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them.

The enemy is out there trying to deceive us into thinking we need to give up, give in. The more we stand for Jesus, the more the enemy wants to shut us up. Caleb has a special place in my heart. Each of the 24 grandchildren have their own special place in my heart😊. Caleb made his choices and I understand that. He knew he was loved. I do know he accepted Jesus as his Savior at least a few years ago and was raised in the most amazing Christian family. I know he no longer is living on the streets here but walking on streets of gold. I know his pain is over. I also know it wasn’t God’s will for him to go now and not by the hands of policemen. But we also know that our heavenly Father will work all things for His good. Caleb played with fire and this time the fire engulfed him.

I can’t really explain my heart. It is broken, aches and hurts for the others that are trying to grasp this tragedy. My other grandchildren are dealing with some heartache and probably confusion. Caleb’s aunts and uncles are devastated for their brother’s family. My Mom never expected for a great grandchild to go before her. But I know the end result right now. I know we can all go forward with hope and encouragement. I know the Lord will heal every heart that opens up to let Him. I know that the Lord will not leave one single person in our family abandoned or behind but extends His open arms of healing and love. I know Jesus loved Caleb no matter what was manifesting on the outside because He saw his heart. I know there will be a time for healing in all the family and we will help one another through this.  I know I will miss Caleb so much but will go on being the best example of the love and hope in Christ for my family. This is only day 5 so I also know from experience that the days ahead will bring some new challenges and hurts that we will deal with in Jesus. I also know without a shadow of doubt that the devil DID NOT win but we will see miracles, breakthroughs, and healings. We HAVE victory even now because He is our Savior not the world. The devil has to pay back what he has stolen and our focus will not be on the plans of the enemy but on the glorious future we have in Jesus.

This morning as I was reading the Word and praying the Lord gave me verses that ministered to my heart. I love how the Passion Bible talks about His wrap around love, wrap around presence, wrap around protection, wrap around favor, wrap around hope. Right now I can see myself getting much wrap around love and hugs from my Jesus. It’s something I need right now.

“God’s glory is all around me! His wraparound presence is all I need, for the Lord is my Savior, my hero, and my life-giving strength.” Psalm 62:7

“For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all!” Psalm 84:11

“The mighty Spirit of Lord Yahweh is wrapped around me because Yahweh has anointed me, as a messenger to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted, to tell captives, “You are free,” and to tell prisoners, “Be free from your darkness.”” Isaiah 61:1

“Lord, how wonderfully you bless the righteous. Your favor wraps around each one and covers them under your canopy of kindness and joy.” Psalm 5:12

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises!” Hebrews 10:23

“The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wraparound presence will strengthen us.” Psalm 33:20

“So it is impossible for God to lie for we know that his promise and his vow will never change! And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakable hope!” Hebrews 6:18

Thank you for all your love, encouraging words and prayers. The whole family feels that right now. We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Amen!

May 16, 2021
Today we are in Tennessee with our oldest son, Jereme, and his family. Our granddaughter just graduated high school and we are here to celebrate with her. It’s been a busy week. We were with my Mom on Sunday and Monday. We came home Tuesday to prepare to come here to Tennessee on Wednesday at 6:30 am. There have been a few challenges but He is always faithful. The other day I saw this verse on a card and it really spoke to me: Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” I needed to hear this and know that He went ahead of Mom as you went home. He took care of every fear she and Dave would have as Mom transitioned from the rehab to home. Everything I do and everywhere I go He has gone before me and prepares the way. I forget that sometimes and think I am heading into something unaware and unprepared. What a promise!!!

He is faithful and unchanging even when I change or situations change. When I am in Him I know that I cannot disappoint Him even when I fail. His promises are true and His name is powerful and full of life. His Word is the answer. I am wrapped in His presence and love always but I sometimes let life blind me to who I am. In Him nothing can harm me – not even myself. He remains faithful. His hope keeps me going. I can say, “It is well, It is well with my soul”.

“And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in Me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in Me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world.” John 16:33 Passion Bible

“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities and not the distractions of the natural realm. Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life and now your true life is hidden away in God as you live within the Anointed One. And every time Christ Himself is seen for Who He really is, who you really are will also be revealed, for you are now one in His glory.” Colossians 3:2-4 Passion Bible

Wow! His Word is so powerful and gives us the answers we need for all of life. And every time Christ Himself is seen for Who He really is, who you really are will also be revealed.
As I see Him in His glory, as I spend time in His presence just knowing how much He loves, then I will see who I am because I am in Him. In His presence there can be no stress, no strife, no failure, no doubt, no fear. In His presence is the fullness of joy.

This week mediate on His words, His promises, His presence. Put His Word in your heart. In Him I have peace that passes all understanding and it is well, it is well with my soul. You can also meditate on Psalm 103. His love endures FOREVER!!

Our Father’s LoveKing David’s song of praise – Psalm 103 – Passion translation
With my whole heart, with my whole life,
    and with my innermost being,
I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God!
Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration.
How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness
    you’ve done for me?
You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done.
You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease.
You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life.
You’ve crowned me with love and mercy.
You satisfy my every desire with good things.
You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again
like a flying eagle in the sky!
You’re a God who makes things right,
    giving justice to the defenseless.
You unveiled to Moses your plans
and showed Israel’s sons what you could do.
Lord, you’re so kind and tenderhearted
and so patient with people who fail you!
Your love is like a flooding river
    overflowing its banks with kindness.
You don’t look at us only to find our faults,
just so that you can hold a grudge against us.
You may discipline us for our many sins,
but never as much as we really deserve.
Nor do you get even with us for what we’ve done.
 Higher than the highest heavens--
that’s how high your tender mercy extends!
Greater than the grandeur of heaven above
is the greatness of your loyal love, towering over all
who fear you and bow down before you!
Farther than from a sunrise to a sunset--
that’s how far you’ve removed our guilt from us.
The same way a loving father feels toward his children--
that’s but a sample of your tender feelings toward us,
your beloved children, who live in awe of you.
You know all about us, inside and out.
You are mindful that we’re made from dust.
Our days are so few, and our momentary beautyj
    so swiftly fades away!
Then all of a sudden we’re gone,
like grass clippings blown away in a gust of wind,
taken away to our appointment with death,
leaving nothing to show that we were here.
But Lord, your endless love stretches
from one eternity to the other,
unbroken and unrelenting toward those who fear you
and those who bow facedown in awe before you.
Your faithfulness to keep every gracious promise you’ve made
passes from parents, to children, to grandchildren, and beyond.
You are faithful to all those who follow your ways
    and keep your word.
 Yahweh has established his throne in heaven;
his kingdom rules the entire universe.
So bless the Lord, all his messengers of power,
for you are his mighty heroes who listen intently
to the voice of his word to do it.
Bless and praise the Lord, you mighty warriors,
ministers who serve him well and fulfill his desires.
I will bless and praise the Lord with my whole heart!
Let all his works throughout the earth,
    wherever his dominion stretches--
    let everything bless the Lord!

Mona's Devotional - Mother's Day - 05/09/2021

May 9,2021
Happy Mother’s Day!!! I’m going to start this writing by first thanking my Mom. I am thankful for my Mom, who will be 91 in a couple months. I thank the Lord for giving me a Mom who believed in the Lord and raised me up to believe and trust in Him also. She is an amazing woman and Mom to this day. She’s struggling with pain from a fall and is in rehab at the hospital today. Even though she’s been in a wheelchair for a few years and has some tough situations in her life, she thanks the Lord each day she is alive. She enjoys sunshiny days, loves to watch the birds and sings with them when she hears them singing. She stops to smell the flowers along her path and notices the little critters or different rocks along her way. She’s learned what’s valuable in life and I’m thankful I can call her MOM.
I am also thankful for my “sisters”.  God created women to be different than men so that when we come together in a marriage we complement each other. God created women with interests and desires that can only be fulfilled through a relationship with other women. Isn’t that amazing?  He created us to desire close friendships. He created women with feelings and compassions that only another woman could really deep down understand.
Then I want to thank the Lord for my children who He gave me to be a Mother to. I am so blessed with my 5 children and who they are as individuals. They are now full fledge adults that are raising amazing children themselves. But no matter how old they are a mother’s heart loves them just as much today as when they were little ones. It’s almost hard to explain or understand but I thank the Lord daily for my wonderful blessings. I also thank Him for the spouses my children chose and feel so blessed to have 10 children to love. Then there are the 25 grandchildren that touch my heart like nothing I can explain. My heart is so full of love for all my family, I would have never thought I could really love so many people so deeply. I know it’s all because of the Lord and His love working through me.
Today I want to write to Moms and women in general. Even if you are not a Mom in the physical most women were created with a mother’s heart to love and nurture others. I have a heart to minister to other moms and especially young women as I believe we all have a very special call on our lives from the Lord and it can seem to get lost in real life. During this time we are in you have the opportunity to impart love and truth into your children’s hearts and lives like never before. If the Word is truth and true, which it is, the younger generations will face much harder situations than we are now but the Lord showed me they were born and created for such a time as this. As they see your faith in Him, your strength in Him, it will give them an example to follow.
When I was 10 my Dad passed away suddenly. Naturally, my Mom had some very hard times. My brothers and I watched her trust the Lord, put all her faith in Him and stand strong and courageous to provide for us 3 kids. We never once saw her waiver in her relationship with Jesus. She taught us His Word with her words and actions. Then 13 years later I was in the exact same situation, a young widow with 3 children. Her example was what got me through this time when she didn’t live close enough to help me. No one knew what to say to help me. Few knew how to console a 23 year old widow. But I remembered my Mom’s words and example. It was a blessing and God given gift to me. We never know what is ahead but we do know our children and others are watching us and how we deal with situations.
What you say, what you do, the little ones and others are watching. All of us as moms, grandmas and women are in a place in history most of us have not experienced before. Our focus now, rather on the truths of the Lord or on the things and fears of world, is going to affect our children’s lives. We have the joy to give our children the greatest gift – the gift of example as we trust and serve the Lord. The gift of showing them that His faith is working through us. These young ones already have such a great faith – the faith of a child. We can help keep that strong by not squelching it with what we say and do. What if you are struggling with all this change and situations yourself? This is your/our chance to stop, look to the Lord and seek His wisdom and let Him show us what to do next. This is where older moms and women need to minister and encourage the younger women. “the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—  that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children.” Titus 2:3-4 This is where we can come together in praying for each other. Prayer is something we can always do and it can’t be taken away us. As moms and women we have “one of those days” sometimes often. There’s no such thing as a perfect mom, grandma, person. That’s why we need to know Him first and His unconditional love for us. We need to believe who we were created to be because He became our sacrifice for sin, then was buried and rose again giving us a new identity in Him. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 NKJV
We need each other. We weren’t created to be alone and not help one another. The mandates put on us during this situation in our country have caused some frustrations inside our heart because we are going against His Word and our own hearts. The great thing is that He’s aware of what’s happening in our world and He will give each of us creative ideas on how to pray with others, share with other women and moms and encourage one another. He’s still the victory in all this and “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NKJV This past year we have started a Ladies Ministry and I’m beyond excited about how it is growing and ministering to ladies.
Right now, I believe the Lord is encouraging women and moms to stand strong, stand firm and listen to His words for you and your family. Your purpose hasn’t vanished with this mess. Actually, this time has enhanced your purpose and call. None of us will come away from this season in our lives the same and that includes our children. It’s our choice to come away rejoicing and thankful for all we have gleaned from these circumstances and sharing it with others.
I think my main point of all this is that right now we are history makers and world changers. What we say and do now will make a difference 10 years from now because younger people are watching. Others may also be seeding into your child’s life and heart, some very good but there are things that they are seeing and hearing now that is not good. As their mom you have the God given ability to “Train up a child in the way he should go, teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. AMP Father’s and others have a part in this but only moms can give their children certain things. The gifts and love of a mom are like nothing else they will receive in their lives. These are changing times. For myself, I’ve had time for many heart to heart talks with my heavenly Father. It’s time for all of us as women to go deeper in Him so we can do all He has for us to do. Being passive, unstable and unsure are not good character traits for the days ahead. “Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; And she smiles at the future knowing that she and her family are prepared. She opens her mouth in skillful and godly wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue, giving counsel and instruction. She looks well to how things go in her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed, happy, prosperous, to be admired; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying, “Many daughters have done nobly, and well, with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness, but you excel them all.” Charm and grace are deceptive, and superficial beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31: 25-30 AMP
Here are some verses that tell us how powerful the faith of our children is: “Lord, your name is so great and powerful! People everywhere see your splendor. Your glorious majesty streams from the heavens, filling the earth with the fame of your name! You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.” Psalm 8:1-2 Passion Singing children and childlike faith shuts the mouth of the enemy! Children are gifted and blessed by God as much as we are but still need guidance and training. As we train them with His Word and our love for the Lord flowing through us, we can learn from their faith. I pray this encourages you to be all God created you to be to encourage, train and love others! Happy Mother’s Day blessed women of God!!!

Mona's Devotional - Psalm 91 - 05/02/2021

May 2, 2021
It’s a whirlwind the last few weeks. I figured out I was gone over half of April. Much of it was helping my Mom and Dave and I will be continuing to do that. I came home late Friday and will be going to my Mom’s today, Saturday. Sorry I am missing everyone for the last couple weeks. Last weekend we were at the women’s conference in Buena Vista and it was a powerful time. Now this week I am with Mom. Mom fell a week ago and fractured her L1 and possibly her tailbone. Either way she is in so much pain. After 3 trips t the ER , 2 of them by ambulance, they have kept her to see if they can help. She will be doing some physical therapy and pain management advice. I just know I need to be with her.

We had an incredible week with David and Cristi Hinton filming the new movie and doing a men’s and women’s conference. Many, many things were happening all around us and we saw the Holy Spirit work in mighty ways. Some things were meant to be stumbling blocks but they weren’t and we continued to go forward in His plans.

That is when the Lord reminded me of what He spoke to me last week. He told me to keep my eyes on Him. Not to look at the problem but to the Answer. What I keep before my eyes and listen to with my ears is what I will focus on and put in my heart. Fear can creep in for Mom. “What if’s” pop into my mind. I know all this is the deceiver trying to get me distracted. The Word is full of God’s promises to protect us, to heal us, to watch over us, to never leave us. Those words are the ones I must read and reread again and again until there is no fear or doubt in my heart and mind. I love the Passion translation of Psalm 91:
“When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.”
Hidden from what? Let’s read on – the rest of this chapter tells us.

He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me, the only God for me, and my great confidence.
He is our hope, our Stronghold, the only God. Without Him we have and are nothing!!!

He will rescue you from every hidden trap of the enemy, and he will protect you from false accusation and any deadly curse.
He rescues us from EVERY hidden trap of the enemy. He rescues us from ANY deadly curse. Coronavirus is a deadly curse. There is nothing good about it!

His massive arms are wrapped around you, protecting you. You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.
I love to feel His massive arms wrapped around me. He is faithful and His faithfulness is our shield. The shield of Faith protects our hearts from letting lies and deception in.

You will never worry about an attack of demonic forces at night nor have to fear a spirit of darkness coming against you.
Wow! I desire so much that everyone grasped and believed this promise! When we are in Him, hidden in Him, we NEVER have to worry about a demonic attack. It’s when we get our eyes off Him and get into trying to figure things out on our own and in our own ways that we get distracted.

Don’t fear a thing! Whether by night or by day, demonic danger will not trouble you,
nor will the powers of evil launched against you.

What a powerful, life changing promise!

Even in a time of disaster, with thousands and thousands being killed,
you will remain unscathed and unharmed, you will be a spectator as the wicked perish in judgment, for they will be paid back for what they have done!
When there is a disaster we are hidden in Him unharmed from what is going on. The enemy cannot not even see us when we hidden in Him!!

When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High, our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm. How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?
I stand on this promise right now. The Amplified Bible says: Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.

God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from all harm. If you walk into a trap, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling.
He commands angels to be with us. There is so much going on in the spiritual world that we cannot see. Imagine what we look like as a church family with all our angels?! We don’t see all those traps the enemy has tried to catch us in. Thank You, thank You, Jesus.

You’ll even walk unharmed among the fiercest powers of darkness, trampling every one of them beneath your feet!
Hallelujah!!

For here is what the Lord has spoken to me: “Because you have delighted in me as my great lover, I will greatly protect you. I will set you in a high place, safe and secure before my face.
I praise the Lord for His protection and love! He will GREATLY PROTECT ME – YOU!! We are safe and secure in His high place.

I will answer your cry for help every time you pray, and you will find and feel my presence even in your time of pressure and trouble. I will be your glorious hero and give you a feast.
Even in the times I get caught up in the deceptions He hears my prayers and I will feel and know His presence.

You will be satisfied with a full life and with all that I do for you.  For you will enjoy the fullness of my salvation!”
PRAISE THE LORD!! What a promise! I can enjoy my salvation – my zoe life. The life that He has made for me. I’m healed, protected, delivered from any evil, prosperous, full of His Spirit! The fullness of my salvation!

I believe with everything in me that we have power and authority over any virus, sickness, over any distraction, over any attack. There is no disease or plaque that is beyond the Lord. He gave me – us the power and authority to rule over the powers of darkness. This little lighthouse church on the mountain has the power and authority to come against anything that isn’t of God.
“For where two or three are gathered in My name meeting together as My followers, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20  “How could one chase a thousand,  And two put ten thousand to flight…” Deuteronomy 32:30 Let’s stand together and in His Word. We will see the victory!!! Keep these words before your eyes and we will not stray or get into fear! We can have the peace and strength that people are desiring. We are an example and witness to the power and love of Jesus. Thank you for standing with us!
