Mona's Devotional - February 11, 2018 Love Fear

2/13/2018

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY THIS WEEK!! The day of love. It is a phileo love – which is important but the greatest love is agape love. It is God’s love and the love that every heart is looking for because we were created to want and need His everlasting love. In 2 Timothy 1:7 it says: “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. I have learned that the opposite of love is not hate but fear. When we are fear we don’t see His love the same. How do we get out of fear? By believing in our hearts we weren’t given a spirit of fear and believing and mediating on His love. We send fear away and meditate on the truth. As we do that our hearts begin to believe and receive what we have in Him.
This is what I meditate on to not be in fear or any other negative emotion: I have an amazing, divine destiny and was created to live in His presence. His love is a love that cannot be compared to any love I have ever known on earth. All I have to do is bring Him a yielded heart and let go of what is holding me back. He longs to smother every area of my life with His passionate love. His love sends away and demolishes very fear I have. He is the Light I need in the darkest moments of my life. His joy is my strength. I am His glorious treasure. I was created by and for His love. He relentlessly pursues me and I long to know His ways. His love is irresistible and it is mine forever and always. His love is tangible and real. He never leaves me or makes me earn His love. Nothing I do can cause Him to not love me with all of His life. He delights in me and rejoices in the times I come into His presence. He gently whispers His words of love to me so I never am without a reminder of His presence in me. His love is perfect. He continues to remind me of who I am and who I was created to be. He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own. He holds me close and I feel His heart of love beating. I listen and He speaks to me in unexpected ways. Inside me is a yearning desire to know Him in a deeper way. I long to know His heart of love. I was designed by God to enjoy Him, hear Him speak to me, and dwell in His Presence. He calls me radiant. He is my breath of life, I am His beautiful bride. He believes in me. I don’t want anything to hinder my relationship with Him. No fear is worth letting go of what I have in Him. He knows me inside and out and knows the feelings I can struggle with and still calls me beautiful and His!!! His words touch my heart and His love is beyond my understanding. I don’t want fear (which is usually a lie) to muffle His voice so I do not hear clearly. I can run into His arms of grace and feel His arms around me and I know I am loved. My greatest desire besides knowing Him more is for others to see Him in me and know how His love through me. Below are verses that tell us that we aren’t to be in fear but to always be in Him and His love. You are Loved!!

“There is no fear in love – dread has does not exist, but full-grown, complete, perfect love turns fear out of the doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment and so he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love – is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection.” 1 John 4:18

“..I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.” Jeremiah 31:3
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high because he knows and understands My name (has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love and kindness- trust and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no never). He shall call upon Me and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble and honor him.” Psalm 91:14-15
“You give power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might You increase strength causing it to multiply and making it to abound. But those that wait in You, who expect, look for, and hope in You, shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up close to You as eagles mount up to the sun; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” Isaiah 40:29, 30
“You are my Refuge and Strength, a very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas. I will let be and be still and know, recognize and understand that You are my God. You will be exalted among the nations! You will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:1,2,10
“I will seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness and all the things I need are given to me. Therefore, I do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own troubles.” Matthew 6:33-34
“The Lord God is my strength. He will make my feet like deer’s feet.” Habakkuk 3:19

“His love broke open the way and He brought me into a broad palce. He rescued me – because His delight is in me! Psalm 18:19

“God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1

“My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26

“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You.” Psalm 84:5

“The joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Nehemiah 8:10

“Now to Him Who, by the power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do super abundantly, far over and above all we dare ask or think, indefinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes and dreams.” Ephesians 3:20
“I will run after you with delight in My heart.” Psalm 119:32
“And God’s peace shall be yours - that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is - that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it and the God of peace, of untroubled, undisturbed well-being will be with you.” Philippians 4:7, 9.
“…But the mind of the Spirit is life and peace both now and forever.” Romans 8:6
